Your Guide to the Homer Winter Carnival

The Theme

The Homer Winter Carnival boasts a new theme each year. For the 70th anniversary of this event, our community selected selected the theme, “What’s Old is New”!  All of the parade floats are designed with the theme in mind and winners are selected by judges at the midway point on Pioneer Avenue. Come out to the streets of Downtown Homer to see what unique floats our locals have created!

Then, explore other sightseeing opportunities in our area. Enjoy the sight of an Eagle as you enjoy coffee on your porch, or embark on a Homer Alaska sightseeing tour with the Driftwood Inn and Captain Glen for the perfect blend of sightseeing and exercise, even during the winter.  With our days getting longer day by day and the increasing daylight you will enjoy an optional hike with extraordinary views!

The Event

The main event is the Homer Winter Carnival Parade, which takes place Saturday at noon. Spectators line the streets of Old Town Homer along Pioneer Avenue as floats and displays make their way across town.
