The cabin is the actual cabin Yule built and lived in with his wife and 8 kids when he arrived in Homer Alaska. After you visit to the Cabin you are given details on where you can and can not go on the property. You may choose to walk up a hill behind the cabin where Yule is buried on a beautiful site overlooking Mountains, Glaciers, Kachemak Bay, and the Homestead. You also can walk down to the beach if you like; its about a mile down to the water and a very uphill walk returning to the parking area. A family member is usually on site to talk about the history of the Kilcher Family and the homesteading days. This authentic experience is well worth the $60 per person.
